Against all odds, Super Mario Run is still trucking along despite launching nearly 10 years ago. In the latest update for the game, version 3.4.0, Nintendo has started a new event to promote the release of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which hit theaters nationwide on April 1st, 2026. Running from today until May 29th, 2026, players will have the chance to unlock a bunch of different statues and place them around their Mushroom Kingdom to show off. Wahoo!
Taking place in three sets, players will be able to unlock the following statues:
Set One
- Mario
- Luigi
- Yoshi
Set Two
- Captain Toad
- Princess Peach
Set Three
- Bowser Jr.
- Bowser
- Set 1
- Set 2
- Set 3
Details are sparse about how you get each statue, but it involves completing missions under set stipulations. It’s pretty bog-standard stuff, though still surprising considering the age of the game. I guess if it’s available on mobile and kids want it, Nintendo has no reason to delist or shut down services. Wahoo.
