Mewgenics is one of the biggest indie hits in a long time, but it currently is only available on PC. While co-director Edmund McMillen previously confirmed that he was working on porting the game to consoles, he’s now teasing the game actually running on Nintendo Switch 2 hardware. On Twitter, he shared a quick clip of the game with the caption, “Oh hi Switch 2!” Running on a Switch 2 development unit, the game seems to have no problem running the at full speed even this early into development.

In response to that, Binding of Isaac producer Tyrone Rodriguez shared a clip of the game running on PlayStation 5 with the caption, “Oh yeah?” Rodriguez owns publisher Nicalis, which has worked with McMillen in the past to port games to other platforms. This suggests that Nicalis will be handling the Mewgenics conversion.

More than that, though, it seems Mewgenics is making incredible progress on consoles. It probably won’t be long until we see the port materialize, which is good news for anyone that doesn’t have a gaming PC.
