Capcom has announced that the highly successful Resident Evil Requiem has achieved yet another extraordinary sales milestone. The latest installment in the company’s flagship horror franchise has now surpassed six million sales worldwide. Capcom confirmed that this “is the fastest that a title in the series has reached this milestone.”
This comes swiftly after the news from earlier this month, in which Requiem had surpassed 5 million units in less than a week following its launch. Even before the game’s release, Capcom stated in January that Resident Evil Requiem’s announcement “helped drive sales growth for titles in the same series, led by Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Village.”
Unsurprisingly, Capcom intends to continue supporting the game with additional content. Last week, Director Koshi Nakanishi announced that a photo mode is coming soon, with a new minigame coming in May. A story-based expansion is also currently in development.
Resident Evil Requiem is available now on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam. We said in our review: “Resident Evil may be revisiting the past with this latest entry, but for the most part, it manages to avoid its previous mistakes – and more importantly, capitalizes on what the series does best.”
