As spotted by Instagram account Collect, a dry cleaning company located in Yamanashi, Japan has become a viral sensation on social media after sharing videos of its workers dry cleaning “fat Pikachu” plushes. While the shop wasn’t set up specifically to clean toys, the care and attention to detail the workers give each Pikachu has made it the most popular spot to send beloved toys and collectibles.

As can be seen in the videos, each Pikachu is placed on a small, rotating platform and then carefully sprayed down with an iron. The workers massage the water through the fur to ensure that it doesn’t become too wet in any one spot. The Pikachu’s are also given a starch spray to enhance their original color, not to mention puff up their bodies a bit. It’s like watching a childhood companion get treated like a king for 15 minutes.
What makes the entire scene so special is the sheer number of Pikachu’s being worked on at one time. It wouldn’t be so odd for someone to send a plush toy to the dry cleaners, but seeing a factory floor with ten of them at once is a sight to behold. It’s like Nintendo’s dream world of Pokémon has become a reality.
