Acclaimed roguelike puzzle game Blue Prince surprise released on the Switch 2 eShop yesterday following the conclusion of Nintendo’s Indie World showcase. An engaging mixture of puzzle solving, bigger mysteries, and randomized layouts, Blue Prince is well worth it for people who like puzzles or who want something different from their gaming experience. Sadly, it’s only available digitally, but if you can manage to hold out until later this year, you’ll be able to acquire a physical copy.

On Twitter, boutique label iam8bit responded to a fan inquiry about whether Blue Prince would receive a physical release in the future. The company responded, “We ARE going to be bringing Blue Prince on Switch 2 to physical later this year!” Now, there’s no exact timeframe for when, but iam8bit handled the physical PlayStation 5 version of Blue Prince last year. It came out a few months after the regular digital release, so I would expect a similar turnaround for Nintendo Switch 2 players.

I would expect the physical version to be priced around the same as the PS5 one, which goes for $35. Blue Prince retails for $30 digitally, though there is a launch week discount of 34% off. You can currently grab the game for $19.49 on every platform to celebrate this new port.
