Despite having added the game to the NSO service years ago, Nintendo has only just now uploaded Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins’ OST to its Nintendo Music service. Coming just a week after the previous Nintendo Music update, the Super Mario Land 2 OST is a little surprising as it doesn’t coincide with anything special. Even still, this soundtrack is a classic and offers a rather different take on theme songs than what you’d find in other Mario titles.
Enjoy the golden sounds of the #NintendoMusic app! Check out songs from the Game Boy game Super Mario Land 2 – 6 Golden Coins, available now.

Featuring 35 tracks, it’s not a particularly long OST, but then most Game Boy soundtracks aren’t. I can’t recall any track names off the top of my head, but one aspect I love about Super Mario Land 2’s OST is the recurring leitmotif throughout most songs. I sometimes break out in humming the tunes when I’m bored because they played such a pivotal role in my childhood. The game is good, even if 34 years on, there are better portable Mario titles.
