During today’s Nintendo Partner Direct stream, Team Cherry announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition update for Hollow Knight will be available later today. Free to owners of the main game, this update will bring improved frame rates and 4K resolution output, bringing the game up to par with the PC version. I believe it will also include some additional graphical effects that the original Switch couldn’t handle.

It’s not the most substantial update around, but it’s an appreciated upgrade. Hollow Knight originally launched in 2017 for Switch and can look a little rough when played on a 4K TV. The Switch 2’s built-in screen also has a higher resolution than the original Switch, so even portable mode isn’t quite as clear as it should be. With this update, you won’t have to worry about blurry visuals, and you’ll get 120 fps support if you want it. Solid stuff.
