At long last, Nintendo fans will finally be able to play Virtua Fighter in a non-emulated manner. Sega has announced that Virtua Fighter 5 REVO World Stage, the latest update to its Dragon Engine overhauled port of Virtua Fighter 5, will be hitting Nintendo Switch 2 on March 26th, 2026. Coming packed with all the fighters, stages, and costumes that have accumulated over the years, this port will include full crossplay support with other platforms and rollback netcode to ensure the smoothest online experience.

The World Stage part of the equation is a single-player mode added to the existing PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series ports last year. It’s not the deepest experience around, but it lets you build up a character while challenging AI opponents to become the strongest fighter in the world. It’s reminiscent of a similar mode that Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution had when it released on PlayStation 2 20+ years ago.

Pre-orders are currently open on the eShop with a price of $19.99. Three DLC packs will be available on launch which include extra costumes based on Yakuza/Like a Dragon, Tekken, and classic Virtua Fighter.
