The first Nintendo Direct of the year is rumored to be happening during the first week of February, according to a renowned leaker known for his accuracy.

On Nate the Hate’s latest podcast episode, he claimed that the next Nintendo Direct is likely to occur next week.

“From what I have been told, the first Direct of 2026 will be held during the opening week of February, with an expectation of broadcast on Thursday, February 5th,” he said.

The Direct discussion starts from the 5:20 mark in the video below.

Nate did caveat that he had not been able to confirm with his “best contacts” at the time of recording, and said he would post updates on his X and BlueSky accounts should he have any updates.

Nate the Hate has a respectable track record when it comes to the accuracy of his leaks. Last week, the “GamingLeaksAndRumours” Reddit community selected him for their “Leaker of the Year 2025” award.

A special Direct presentation for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream was also officially confirmed today for January 29th.

The last general Nintendo Direct took place in September 2025, which featured some big reveals including The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 Switch bundle, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, and more.
