As spotted by IGN today, an update to the official PokéPark Kanto website has noted that individuals with limited mobility will not be able to access the Pokémon Forest attraction of the theme park. A 500-meter-long trail featuring steep hills, multiple sets of stairs, and varying levels of terrain, it seems The Pokémon Company couldn’t find any reasonable way to accommodate various disabilities without completely altering the park’s design. At such, the website lists the following:
Individuals for which any of the following applies cannot enter:
Those under the influence of alcohol, with heart conditions, who are pregnant, with high or low blood pressure, who are feeling unwell, who are unable to climb 110 steps without assistance, and those with conditions or symptoms that may worsen by using the park.
The Japanese version of the website also specifies that people with wheelchairs and children age five or younger will not be allowed into the forest area. Most of this is likely for liability reasons as taking any kind of trail is not a simple task. None of these restrictions apply to Sedge Town, the less physically involved portion of PokéPark. Specific tickets for entry to just Sedge Town will be available in summer 2026, so you won’t need to spend money on an area of the park you can’t enter if you have a disability.

It’s a little sad to read this information, though, as consideration for people with limited mobility could have been incorporated during the design phase. People on Japanese social media were quick to point this out, too, voicing their displeasure at the inconsistent ticket pricing and lack of accessibility. It’s also a bit odd to exclude younger kids from entering the forest even with parental supervision.
