In a new update from Nintendo of Japan, the company has announced that new Yoshi plushes and a Yoshi app will be coming to its “My Mario” line of children’s toys. Announced this past August as a marketing campaign for children and parents, “My Mario” is intended as a range of products which introduce Mario to babies while following their own growth throughout life. Nintendo had stated it would be expanding the range with different products in the coming months, and it seems as if Yoshi was the next logical step for the brand.
Starting on November 18th, 2025, in Japan, Yoshi will receive his own app similar to what Mario got where kids can poke and prod at Yoshi’s face. It will be available on both Nintendo Switch and mobile devices for free. On Nintendo’s website, a description for the app reads:
You can eat items when you spread Yoshi’s tongue, and Yoshi, who has different colors, appear from eggs. Please play with a strange Yoshi who shows various expressions. After playing for a while, Yoshi falls asleep. You can’t play while you’re sleeping, so please use it as a guide for your child’s rest.
With regards to physical products, Yoshi will be getting a brand-new plush as well as a picture book, a rattle, and a dudu for kids to play with. The plush reportedly talks and sings as well as sways to the music. It’s very adorable, I have to say. I love the touch with the pastel colors to represent childhood. Some new blocks based on Yoshi, Luigi, and Peach round out the lineup of new toys, with everything being available the same day as the app. The picture book, however, will hit shelves on November 20th, 2025.
