The Pokémon Company has announced that Pokémon TCG Pocket, the exciting digital version of the popular trading card game, will be receiving the Mega Rising expansion on October 29th, 2025. With the release comes three new booster packs: Mega Gyarados, Mega Blaziken, and Mega Altaria, each complete with Mega Evolution EX cards and fun new animations for playing them. There’s even something about adding accessories to your cards, which the official website shows off with Mega Blaziken. Those will be available on October 31st, 2025.
The news of this expansion comes hot off the heels of Pokémon TCG Pocket celebrating its first anniversary. According to TPC, the game has seen over 150 million downloads since it launched last year. To commemorate the occasion, the app will be updated with a new share feature the same day as Mega Rising. The share feature will allow players to share cards of ♦–♦♦♦♦ rarity with friends once per day, including with the newest expansions. The range of cards that are tradable will also be expanded, allowing some Shiny cards to be passed on.

If that wasn’t enough, a series of events will be available for players to expand their own collection of cards. You can find the details below:
- First Anniversary Celebration Campaign (Oct. 29 at 11 p.m. PDT to Dec. 16 at 9:59 p.m. PST): To commemorate the first anniversary of Pokémon TCG Pocket, each player will receive a Mega Rising: Mega Gyarados, Mega Rising: Mega Blaziken and Mega Rising: Mega Altaria booster pack, at no cost, which can be claimed in Gifts upon first log-in beginning Oct. 30, 2025.
- First Anniversary Celebration Special Missions (Oct. 29 at 11 p.m. PDT to Dec. 16 at 9:59 p.m. PST): During this period, players can tackle special missions to obtain a celebratory first-anniversary emblem and other rewards.
- PROMO Reissue Drop Event 2025 (Oct. 29 at 11 p.m. PDT to Nov. 8 at 9:59 p.m. PST): Players can take on special solo battles to obtain previously released A Series promo packs vols. 1–6 and 8–13.
- PROMO Reissue Wonder Pick Event (Oct. 29 at 11 p.m. PDT to Nov. 13 at 9:59 p.m. PST): A Series promo cards previously available from wonder pick will reappear in wonder picks during this period. Players can also complete missions to earn an event shop ticket which can be exchanged for one promo card at the Shop.
