For decades now, one of the most intense debates surrounding the Pokémon series was whether the lovable pocket monsters pooped or not. With Pokémon Legends: Z-A now out in the wild, fans have been digging through the game to discover new information about critters such as Pikachu, and they’ve happened upon a nugget: Pikachu does, in fact, poop.
On Twitter, user teso_026 posted a screenshot from the Japanese version of the game that shows a trainer talking about their Pikachu. The rough translation of the text states that the trainer is worried about their Pokémon since Pikachu is pooping more than usual. In the same spot in the English version, the text was localized as, “My Pikachu’s been having tummy troubles recently. I’m worried…”

While the English version maybe softens the stool blow a bit, that hasn’t stopped fans from getting the term “Pikachu’s Poop” to start trending on Twitter. Why wouldn’t the term trend? People now have an official answer about the digestive systems of Pokémon. This raises some extra questions, though, like if Pokémon poop outside like other domesticated animals or if certain ones like Machamp are actually potty trained.
