As tensions in the lawsuit between Nintendo and Palworld developer Pocketpair continue to heat up, it seems that Pocketpair isn’t content to let Nintendo completely steamroll the company. Announced this morning, a new Palworld spinoff game titled Palworld: Palfarm is a cozy farming simulator that includes the creatures from Palworld as well as several of the mechanics from the main game. If you couldn’t tell, this spinoff is very clearly made as a rebuttal to the existence of Pokémon: Pokopia, which was announced not even two weeks ago.

Currently scheduled only for PC with no release date, Palfarm will let players amass their Pals on a farm to grow crops and build a village. You’ll start with a barren plot of land that, through the use of your Pals, you’ll be able to transform into your own bustling utopia. For some reason, Palfarm still includes combat and it seems that rival trainers can send their Pals to damage your farm. That’s not exactly cozy, but I suppose it adds a layer of strategy to the proceedings.

In an interesting wrinkle, there will be a marketplace players can peruse run by residents of the farm, but there will also be a black market where players can acquire “shadier” gear. There is even a multiplayer mode set to be included, something that Pokopia has not detailed at all. I have to wonder if multiplayer raids are a thing as I imagine ransacking your friend’s farm would make for a rather thrilling time.

While the game has not been announced for console platforms yet, I would imagine that Palworld: Palfarm will head to all major platforms in the near future. We still haven’t seen the main Palworld game on Nintendo Switch or Switch 2, but Pocketpair has expressed interest in getting it on Nintendo platforms.
