What a day to be an amiibo fan! During this morning’s Nintendo Direct, we got TONS of amiibo news, including some of the most unique figures we’ve ever reported on here at Nintendo Wire!
Kirby Air Riders is getting a pair of brand-new amiibo on November 20th, with promises of even more on the way in the future. But what’s this? These aren’t your typical amiibo! These amiibo are swappable! According to the Direct, these amiibo will level up, similar to Super Smash Bros. amiibo, with each race.
Both a Kirby and Bandana Dee amiibo, complete with vehicles, have been announced, and they have the ability to swap onto each other’s rides. Unlike the Monster Hunter Stories amiibo, which only let you swap riders in a strictly cosmetic fashion, these appear to have chips embedded in them so the amiibo actually know who’s on which vehicle when scanned in!
Kirby and Bandana Dee amiibo will launch alongside Air Riders on November 20th. We’re still waiting on pricing details, but a second Air Riders Direct is confirmed to be coming in the near future to hopefully share more details. Stay tuned!
