It’s been an absolutely crazy day to be an amiibo fan! During today’s Nintendo Direct, a whopping SEVEN brand-new amiibo were announced from Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 4, and Kirby Air Riders! Unfortunately, these also happen to be some of the most EXPENSIVE amiibo we’ve seen yet, with prices ranging from $29.99 all the way up to a massive $49.99 each. Here’s everything we know so far:
Super Mario Galaxy amiibo
Available to pre-order at Walmart Amazon, and Best Buy
Nintendo announced that a super-sized Mario and Rosalina amiibo will launch on April 2nd, 2026, for $39.99 each. Their exact in-game functionality hasn’t been revealed yet, but one thing is certain: they’re significantly larger than traditional amiibo. Nintendo even shared a size comparison to show just how massive these figures are.
Not only are these amiibo BIG; they’re also some of the most detailed we’ve ever seen. Just look at the details on the bases! No buts about it, these are some of the most stunning amiibo to date. That said, the hefty price tag may put them out of reach for even some of the most die-hard collectors.
According to the official pre-release, The Mario and Rosalina amiibo will give you a Life Mushroom when tapped. Not the functionality I was hoping for, but at least they look amazing!
Mario never hesitates to leap into action when there’s trouble. Known for saving the world (and Princess Peach) countless times from Bowser, Mario is a true super star. He’s got amazing jumping skills and makes use of a wide range of transformations. Mario has powered up into countless roles—and here he is launching into a journey across the stars in the Super Mario Galaxy™ game!
This amiibo™ figure is larger than standard size, and features Mario soaring into space with a Luma companion following close behind.

Metroid Prime 4 amiibo
Available to pre-order at Walmart Amazon, and Best Buy
Next up, Nintendo announced three new amiibo from Metroid Prime 4. A standard Samus figure will release on November 6th for $29.99, alongside a much larger figure of Samus riding her bike, VI-O-LA, for $39.99. Then, about a month later on December 4th, another figure, Sylux, will join the lineup at $29.99.
Nintendo hasn’t shared what these figures will do in-game just yet, but it promised more details at a later date.
Kirby Air Riders amiibo
Available to pre-order at Walmart Amazon, and Best Buy
Finally, we come to the most expensive, and possibly the coolest amiibo of the bunch! Nintendo revealed that Kirby and Bandana Waddle Dee are receiving special Air Riders amiibo on November 20th that can swap between vehicles. This isn’t just a simple cosmetic change either. Each figure has a chip embedded in its base, allowing the amiibo to recognize which character and vehicle combination is being tapped in.
All that extra functionality comes at a cost, though, as each figure will retail for a whopping $49.99, making these amiibo the most expensive ever released at retail. Similar to the Super Smash Bros. amiibo, these will level up the more you use them, with stats being saved directly to the figure. And if that wasn’t enough, Nintendo teased that even MORE figures are on the way in the future.
Nintendo has this to say about the new amiibo:
In the Kirby™ Air Riders game, place this Kirby amiibo™ figure on the Warp Star amiibo to create a Rider & Air Ride Machine combo. Tap the amiibo to train it up as a FP (Figure Player), which will gain FP levels and machine proficiency. If you have another Air Ride Machine amiibo, you can place Kirby amiibo onto the other machine to create a new Rider & Air Ride Machine combo and earn machine proficiency. Kirby will retain FP levels when placed and tapped with a different machine.
Get cool in-game extras with amiibo™ accessories and compatible games. Just tap an amiibo accessory to the NFC touchpoint to enjoy fun in-game extra features in compatible games on the Nintendo Switch™ and Nintendo Switch 2 systems.
