As revealed by attendees to Gamescom this week, the long-gestating Hollow Knight: Silksong won’t be a simple uprezzed port for Nintendo Switch 2. Gamers who own Nintendo’s latest console will be able to experience the game in 120 hz for both handheld and TV play. That’s similar to Yacht Club Games’ Mina the Hollower, which even featured the mode in its demo.

Now, the resolution will need to take a hit to accommodate 120 hz in TV mode. If you’re like me and have an LG OLED TV, you’ll have to manually set your Switch 2 to output at 1080p for the feature to work. Everyone else should be fine toggling the feature and having Silksong render at 1440p. LG needs to sort that out, but still, it’s an excellent get for a side-scrolling action game. The better response time will help with reacting to enemy attacks.
