A former Ubisoft employee has revealed that the remake of the original Rayman title was in the works since 2021, though the project has since been abandoned.

As shared via X profile “Rayman Together!” – a fan account dedicated to the franchise, the remake was confirmed by VFX artist Phong in a LinkedIn post.

Phong explained: “In 2021, I had the opportunity to challenge myself at Ubisoft on a trial project for Rayman, but unfortunately, the project did not proceed.”

The artist also shared various concept designs for the remake’s logo, which indicate that “Rayman Forever” and “The Story of Rayman” were possible working titles.

“As part of the redesign of their flagship game, Rayman, Ubisoft asked us to do some research on the game’s new logo and home screen,” Phong said.

“Rayman was THE game that launched the studio, so they wanted to do everything they could to make this new edition a success, hence the long research and meticulous progress.”

Ubisoft confirmed it was working on a Rayman remake in late 2024. At that same time, the developer also confirmed that at the time that an all-new Rayman game was in the works. Assuming that that project is still ongoing – since there has been no word of cancellation for that game – there is still a ray of hope for fans of the limbless hero.
