Visitors to Japan this month will want to make a stop by McDonald’s if they’re big into Pokémon. As part of a special promotion starting on August 8th, 2025, McDonald’s Japan will be carrying a handful of new, exclusive Pokémon toys in Happy meals as well as the previously reported on cards. The toys include Pikachu, Squirtle, Charmander, Mega Charizard X, and more. There is supposedly a secret toy that will also be available, though no hints were given as to what it might be. The toys will be available for a few weeks before the promotion ends.
Alongside the toys is a limited-time adaptation of the South Korean comic series Survival. Visitors will be able to purchase a special edition of the comic that includes its main characters checking out a Zombie themed amusement park. It seems the comic describes how roller coasters work, and everything aims to teach kids about physics. The book will run roughly ¥490 and it will have a QR code on it that lets you play some mobile games related to the series. The games will be playable until September 30th, 2025.
