With rumors of a Nintendo Direct looming for the final week of July and Nintendo having already announced that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment was coming “this winter,” this latest update on the game sure makes it seem like we’ll be getting an official release date soon. As spotted by Universo Nintendo, the Brazilian classification board has rated Koei Tecmo’s follow-up in the country, giving it a 12+ rating. The site claims Nintendo pushed for a 10+ age rating, but I guess the game is a little too violent for 10-year-olds. How will they ever cope?
While news like this is normally not that important, it can mean a couple of things. One is that Age of Imprisonment is releasing very soon, but I don’t think that is likely. Nintendo has already stated it will be a winter release and I anticipate it will be one of the last major titles released on Switch 2 this year. The other thing this rating could be pointing to is that a bigger reveal is around the corner. Games often get rated well in advance of their final release date, and if that rumored Direct is happening, we’re probably going to see a new trailer soon.
Either way, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is coming along nicely, it seems. I hope it can improve the performance over Age of Calamity, because that game was in dire need of a console refresh.
