Drag x Drive, Nintendo’s upcoming tech demo/competitive online game will be getting an online enabled demo ahead of its August 14th, 2025, launch. Announced by the company this morning, the “Drag x Drive: Global Jam” demo will be exclusive for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers and will allow players to experience the game before it releases. This is similar to events Nintendo has held for Splatoon 2, Splatoon 3, and Mario Tennis Aces, which had limited-time demos on the eShop before launch.

The “Global Jam” demo will be available in the following time slots for players to jam out with. You’ll be able to download the demo ahead of time so that you don’t miss out on any of the Dragging or Driving mayhem:

  • Saturday, August 9, 2025
    • 3:00 – 7:00 AM PST / 11:00 – 15:00 BST
    • 5:00 – 9:00 PM PST / 01:00 – 05:00 BST
  • Sunday, August 10, 2025
    • 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM PST / 17:00 – 21:00 BST

There’s no word on what content the demo will have, but Drag x Drive has been shown off as an exclusively multiplayer 3v3 title. Utilizing the mouse functionality of both Joy-Con, players will control the game by dragging their individual controllers to manipulate each wheel of their wheelchairs. You’ll then need to lift the Joy-Con to make shots with the ball, basically mimicking the action done in murderball (aka Quad Rugby). It seems like a fun concept, though one that might have limited appeal.

Drag x Drive will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 14th, 2025, for $20.
