After requesting Nintendo remove the GEX Trilogy from the Switch 2 eShop last week, Limited Run Games is happy to announce that its Switch 2 compatibility patch for the compilation is now live for download. People who have already purchased the GEX Trilogy can boot up their consoles, download the update, and be off to the races reliving the glory days of everyone’s favorite gecko… no, not the Geico one.

LRG confirmed the news on social media and also stated that the upcoming physical game release will include the patch. “If you bought the game and encountered issues, please download the latest update to enjoy GEX Trilogy on your Nintendo Switch 2,” the post reads. That’s excellent news for collectors, especially in an era where game-key cards might become a norm.

This compatibility update does not include the promised PAL versions of the GEX games or their corresponding British voice acting. That is still planned for a future update, which will presumably also be included on the physical edition. I’ve never had the pleasure of experiencing those, so that will certainly be a trip.
