It’s official — Donkey Kong Bananza is bringing the barrel-blasting action to Switch 2 on July 17th, and fans have even more reason to celebrate. Not only does the game feature a younger version of Pauline in a starring role, but it’s also getting its very own amiibo set, with Donkey Kong and Pauline front and center!
But that’s just the beginning. The game includes amiibo functionality that rewards players with special gear, explosive panels, and even throwable terrain, depending on which figure you scan. Here’s everything we know so far:

What Do the amiibo Unlock?
Players can scan amiibo through the dedicated “amiibo” section in the game’s pause menu to unlock in-game items and enhancements. Here’s what each tier of amiibo offers:
Donkey Kong & Pauline Amiibo
- Unlocks Pauline’s “Diva Dress” — a stylish costume that can also be earned in-game by speaking to a specific character.
- Spawns KONG-shaped gold panel bombs, which explode on impact to destroy enemies and terrain.
Other Donkey Kong Series Amiibo
These amiibo spawn the same KONG bomb panels, offering players a powerful tool for clearing out obstacles and enemies.
All Other Amiibo
Scanning any other amiibo spawns giant , throwable spheres! These can be grabbed, swung, or launched to destroy enemies or destroy the environment around you!
