With the Nintendo Switch 2 launching tomorrow, many gamers are going to not only be digging into brand-new experiences, but some past ones thanks to the console’s backward compatibility feature. While most of those games won’t have major improvements (if any), certain games are getting new compatibility patches and others are receiving native Switch 2 ports for expanded features. Surprisingly, No Man’s Sky is one of those as Hello Games has just revealed that a Switch 2 port will be available for the console’s launch tomorrow.

Technically available right now, No Man’s Sky Switch 2 Edition brings the entire game over to Nintendo’s latest platform and includes all of its previous updates along with the recently released “Beacon” update. Beacon introduces some city-building elements to the game, allowing players to become the mayor of a town while owning and managing different settlements and establishments. Apparently, you can talk to every NPC in the town, and through the relationships you build, will be able to recruit them for different jobs such as town sheriffs, etc.

Even if you don’t care about that update, the Switch 2 version of No Man’s Sky will include the obvious upgrades that you expect from a next-generation console. It will support higher resolution output, better frame rates, cross saves, and even comes with touch screen support. In a press release, Hello Games stated, “For the last year we’ve had this secret room with some Switch 2 dev-kits from Nintendo. New platforms are always exciting and our small team has loved pushing the new hardware to its limits.”

No Man’s Sky Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is now available alongside updates for the other console ports, which includes the original Switch.
