Nintendo Switch 2 users have been warned not to tamper with a layer of film on the console’s screen, which has been applied to the system as a safety feature.

The warning comes from the official health and safety manual, which was recently uploaded by Nintendo of Europe. It is available to download here — and you can view the portion of the document with the caption below.

“The screen is covered with a film layer designed to prevent fragments scattering in the event of damage,” it reads.

Switch 2 owners can still apply screen protectors over this film to be extra safe, such as  Nintendo‘s official one (which comes bundled with a carrying case).

Nintendo Switch 2 will launch worldwide on June 5th.
