Announced nearly five years ago, developer IO Interactive has been hard at work on its 007 game after having wrapped up the modern Hitman trilogy. Said to be a fresh start to the iconic character, it seems we’re very close to learning what shape this game will take. This morning, IO Interactive announced the game’s title, “007 First Light,” and promised a full reveal later in the week.

First Light will be heading to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, and may even release this year. With Summer Games Fest set to kick off on Friday, it seems likely IO will be there with a new trailer for this vision of Bond. The teaser image doesn’t really give us any clues, though it shows a silhouette of a man that looks substantially younger than the Bonds we’ve seen in films and games before. He’s also holding a gun, likely Bond’s trusty Walther PPK, so you can expect some amount of shooting.

While I would love to expand on this article, there’s nothing else to say. A tweet from IO doesn’t even hint at what this game will entail, so we’ll just need to remain patient.
