Nintendo Today has been around for two months now, giving players an inside look at their favorite franchises, as well as breaking news over new games or software. For example, the app featured updates on Nintendo 64 games on Nintendo Switch Online, showcasing new features such as Rewind and a CRT Feature. Later that night, Nintendo uploaded the same video to YouTube.

It seems that Nintendo wants to keep exclusivity to Nintendo Today. It’s been discovered that screen recordings will no longer work, instead showing a blank screen. Previously, you were able to screen record any of the videos Nintendo would upload but that’s no longer the case. Earlier this morning, I tried to screen record and screenshot on my iPhone 16 Pro Max. While screen recording was no longer available, screenshots worked just fine. However, screenshots on a video will still show the same blank screen as the recording.

It makes sense that Nintendo wants to keep those videos exclusive to their new app, but there are some cool videos they’ve posted so far and if the app ever shutters, those videos will go with it. As of now, Nintendo has yet to comment on the update.
