With the Switch 2 only a week away, Nintendo’s next console will soon be out in the wild and in people’s hands and homes. Not everyone will be getting a Switch 2 on release, however, and that’s where Best Buy’s newest summer gaming event comes in. Throughout the month of June on the weekends, select Best Buy locations will be partnering up with GameTruck to let customers test out the Switch 2 and a variety of its games. While in-store kiosks will also be available, those are much more limited, whereas GameTruck will be able to host roughly eight or nine consoles at once.

Best Buy’s website has the breakdown of stores available, but we’ve taken a screenshot for convenience. Note that these dates are subject to change, so make sure to confirm if the event is still on before arriving at your local store. More may be added, as well.

As for how GameTruck works, I’ve actually attended a small party with them before. As the name implies, GameTruck has all of its monitors and consoles set up in a tractor-trailer with some decent seating for patrons. You’ll enter the truck, sit down at one of the various displays, and get to playing. There’s not a whole lot to it, but it does have a fun atmosphere with LED light strips, loud speakers, and plenty of games. It’s certainly something I would have loved as a kid, even though it’s still fun enough as an adult.
