Nintendo has been expanding its empire over the last few years with the introduction of new stores, a museum, and theme parks. People across Japan and the United States have had the chance to engage with the company’s games in a real-life location that brings cherished childhood memories to life. Now, the company has announced that Japan will be getting another store, this time situated in the port city of Fukuoka.

Nintendo announced last night that this new location, which will be dubbed “Nintendo Fukuoka,” should open by the end of 2025. It will be the first Japanese store not located on Honshu, which houses the Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto locations. The store is set to be built within a shopping mall at Hakata Station, which is the biggest railway station on Kyushu island. It’s a veritable transport hub, as IGN explains, and should drive up tourism for Fukuoka.
