During today’s jam-packed Nintendo Direct presentation, Supergiant Games creative director Greg Kasavin confirmed that Hades II would be coming to Nintendo’s latest console. The first console port of the game announced thus far, there’s no mention of whether or not Switch 2 owners will be able to play an early-access version, whether the game will be available at the console’s launch or not, or what unique features the Switch 2 port will have. If I had to guess, it probably won’t be available until later in 2025.

Still, Hades II coming to Switch 2 sort of mimics the original game’s release strategy. While the original Hades first hit the Epic Games Store as a timed early-access exclusive for PC in late 2018, when it finally hit version 1.0, Switch players were the first console players to be able to buy it in late 2020. It would be almost a full year before PlayStation and Xbox gamers would get the chance to trek through the depths of hell and defeat their father.

At any rate, we don’t know much else about Hades II on Switch 2. Seeing as how Supergiant made a note of announcing it during this Direct, I would have to assume the game is nearing completion.
