You’ve likely seen the news already, but if not, I have a surprise to tell you: Lego Pokémon is official and will be hitting store shelves in 2026. Both Lego and The Pokémon Company made the announcement this morning with the official Lego site getting a landing page based on the brand. There is… nothing else to go off of. I guess we can extrapolate that Pikachu will be among the first sets released, but that’s basically it.

I suppose I could use this article as a way to vent my frustrations with modern marketing being based around hype rather than practicality, but whatever. Lego Pokémon makes a lot of sense and with Nintendo cozying up to Lego in the past few years, I’m surprised this didn’t happen before Animal Crossing. I also would have killed to have Lego Pokémon as a kid, so I’m gonna be grumpy because of this.

Anyway, mark your calendars for the nebulous date of 2026!
