If you’ve been a part of the greater video game community at any point during the past 40 years or so, odds are you’re at the very least aware of Capcom. With a wide array of franchises under their name over the years from Mega Man to Street Fighter and more, it’s hard to overstate the influence the company has had. In recent times, the brand has been making waves with the Monster Hunter series, which has exploded in popularity as of the past several entries. It should come as no surprise then to hear that the key producer for the franchise has been doing quite well for himself, and as announced recently, will likely be doing even better going forward.

The information comes from the latest personnel changes press release by Capcom for 2025. In said document it was revealed that Yoichi Egawa, current Executive Corporate Officer for Capcom, will be resigning on April 1st. Reading further reveals that his role will then be filled by Ryozo Tsujimoto, who currently serves as a deputy in charge of development positions. Of course, perhaps what he is most known for is his role as the senior or executive producer of the Monster Hunter franchise for over a decade now, with his connection to the series going even further back than that to the very first entry on PS2.

Even with this change in position, Tsujimoto will almost certainly still continue his role in producing the Monster Hunter series. The most recent entry, Monster Hunter Wilds, has been reaching unprecedented numbers, selling 8 million copies in just three days of release. It could very well go on to become the best-selling entry in the series, which would make it the best selling Capcom game of all time. Of course, only time will tell if that ends up panning out, but either way, it seems as if Monster Hunter and Capcom as a whole are in good hands.
