As the countdown towards the release of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond marches on, the excitement among Metroid fans becomes ever more palpable. It’s been nearly eight years since the game was first announced, and just over three since the last new Metroid game was released. Needless to say, there’s a lot of excitement in the air, and what better way to tide over that anticipation than with the news of more high-quality Samus merchandise. If that sounds right up your alley, then it will please you to hear that First 4 Figures has come out with their latest celebration of the series with a Phazon Suit Samus model.
The design of the figure comes from Metroid Prime as one might expect, and includes not only the recolored body suit but even the translucent blue arm cannon infused with Phazon. Much like with the Varia Suit and Gravity Suit models, there are two editions available for purchase. The Collector’s Edition which serves as the standard, or the Exclusive Edition which includes LEDs across the body, visor, and arm cannon.

Exact details on both the measurement and price of the statue are not yet disclosed; based on the previous Samus models it is likely to be between 10-11 inches tall. Furthermore, the price is expected to be around $150 for the Collector’s Edition and $165 for the Exclusive Edition, though these may well end up not being the case. We’ll know for sure once pre-orders go live on February 20th, exactly one week from today, so stay tuned for more information!
