In a very sad turn of events, Nippon Ichi Software has announced via its official website that president and CEO Tetsuhisa Seko has passed away. Seko passed away at some point in the morning of January 24th, 2025, and was 54 years old at the time. Seko had been appointed president of NIS back in 2023 after serving as the head of business content sales and the head of management for over 20 years.

Seko had made a name for himself in the games industry with previous jobs at SNK Co. and Toshin Co. He was hired by NIS in March 2002 and was eventually promoted to the aforementioned management positions in August 2005. At one point during his tenure with NIS, he served as the director for NIS America and was likely responsible for a number of ports and localizations to western territories.

 

Funeral service details for Tetsuhisa Seko

 

According to Japanese publication Jiji, a funeral for Seko will be held on January 29th, 2025, at 11 a.m. JST. It will be located at 55 Memoire Kakamigahara located in Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture.
