Pokémon TCG Pocket officially released only a two days ago and it’s already hit 10 million downloads! For context, Pokémon Masters released back in 2019 and passed the same threshold in four days. It’s insane to see the demand for Pokémon from the general population.
TCG Pocket reminds me a lot of the Pokémon GO days, where everyone was excited and playing together, eagerly showing off their team (or in this case, their deck). It’s fun to add friends and see which cards they want to show off and which cards you can snipe from their Wonder Picks. It’s also a good entry to the TCG, as it lets casual players get into the scene without getting too involved or dedicating much time or effort.
TCG Pocket is 100% free, but there are microtransactions and a premium pass that are optional. (I know I’ve already spent my share on Poké Gold…) There are also missions, as well as a secret card that’s unlocked not by searching under a truck, but by collecting all original 150 Kanto Pokémon.
