Well, this was a bit of unexpected news this morning! During the Level-5 Vision 2024 livestream, the company revealed a trailer for a brand-new series titled Holy Horror Mansion, referring to it as “The Next Concept for Yo-Kai Watch.” You can watch a three-minute teaser trailer below to catch a glimpse of the game in action.

According to a press release from Level-5, Holy Horror Mansion will be the company’s largest cross-media project to date, with more details set to be unveiled in Spring 2025. Check our the full announcement below:

“Packed to the brim with fun activities, it’s a ‘Ghost Craft RPG’!” LEVEL-5 president and CEO Akihiro Hino said during today’s LEVEL-5 Vision 2024: To the World’s Children event. “I’m proud to introduce Holy Horror Mansion. The theme of this title is ‘Family.’ From the story to the game design, we aim to create an experience for the whole family to enjoy together. ‘Enjoying it as a family’… I wonder what that means? Partnering with top entertainment companies, Holy Horror Mansion will be our largest cross-media project. Release schedule and platforms will remain unannounced for now. We will hold a cross-media showcase for the game in spring 2025 to reveal related merchandise and media plans. We kindly ask you to stay tuned for further updates.

The game seems to stay true to the Yo-Kai Watch formula, featuring what looks like turn-based monster combat set in a spooky environment. In addition to the trailer, a teaser website has launched, offering a bit more information about the game. While the site doesn’t have much content yet, it does include a brief game synopsis.

The young hero, who lives in a mansion atop the apartment building owned by his grandma, finds a camera in a locked room, encounters a ghost and gets caught up in all kinds of turmoil!

Unfortunately, Holy Horror Mansion does not yet have a confirmed release date or announced platforms. Stay tuned to Nintendo Wire for more updates as they become available!
