Update: A source to the publication VGC has stated that the leaked images “match what the company has told partners to expect from its design”, adding a bit more validity to these rumors.

Before anyone gets too excited, it’s important to note that everything we’re about to discuss is still unconfirmed. With that in mind, let’s dive into the details.

Early this morning, a Chinese website began leaking images and technical specifications that seem to show the Nintendo Switch 2. These details quickly spread across the internet, and one of the key sources for this leak is the Gaming Leaks and Rumors subreddit, where the images and specifications are still being shared.

(Note: Nintendo Wire has opted not to publish the leaked images. However, for those interested, the images are still available on Reddit at the time of this posting.) We have also embedded tweets from VGC’s Andy Robinson below which is currently housing the images.)

Let’s start with the images. A total of 12 pictures have surfaced, allegedly showing the Nintendo Switch 2 in various forms. The leaked images include the following:

  • Several shots of the redesigned Joy-Con, featuring a rumored magnetic rail system. Other than the new connection system and a slightly larger size, they closely resemble the current Joy-Con.
  • Multiple images of the console itself, including a side-by-side comparison with the original Nintendo Switch. The new system appears noticeably larger, with USB-C ports on both the top and bottom. The kickstand on the back seems to mirror the design of the Switch OLED model.
  • No images of the dock or logo were released.

In addition to the images, technical specifications were reportedly released alongside the leaked console photos. Some of the highlights are:

  • 256GB Flash Storage
  • HDMI 2.1 Support
  • 12 GB Ram
  • NFC Reader (AMIIBO BABY)
  • Built in Microphone
