The 2024 Pokémon World Championships in Honolulu, Hawai’i are official over. During the event’s closing ceremonies, The Pokémon Company’s CEO and president Tsunekazu Ishihara revealed news about Pokémon GO, Pokémon UNITE, Pokémon TCG Pocket, and where competitors for Play! Pokémon’s 2025 season will compete.

Trainers, for 2025 Pokémon World Championships, we’ll be returning to Anaheim, California! Home to 2017’s Pokémon World Championships, competitors who qualify for the 2025 season will be battling it out for the world to see, presumably, at the Anaheim Convention Center. Save the date for August 15th – 17th, 2025!

Yet, that wasn’t the only Pokémon World Championships news. 2026’s location was announced too and it looks like we’ll be staying in California for another year – in San Fransisco (which was where the 2016 Pokémon World Championships took place). The 2026 event will be taking place from August 28th to 30th, 2026.

Pokémon fans who wish to attend either of these events as a competitor will want to read up on the rules for the 2025 and 2026 Play! Pokémon seasons on the official Pokémon site (when they’re made available). Fans can also attend with the purchase of spectator badges, but details for those tickets won’t be released until we’re closer to those events’ dates!
