Whether you’re a long-time fan of the Metroid franchise or just keep up with the series every now and then, you likely wouldn’t disagree with the fact that the Switch has been an incredible era for Metroid. Not counting remakes or spin-offs, Metroid Dread marked the first new entry in the series in over a decade, and that’s not even mentioning Metroid Prime: Remastered and the upcoming Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. As the franchise returns to the spotlight, new merchandise is sure to follow alongside it. In fact, just today a model based on Samus’ Gravity Suit from Metroid Prime was just unveiled for the first time!
The announcement comes via a short teaser posted on the First 4 Figures YouTube channel. In the video the figure can be seen in full from different angles, showing off the incredible detail present in the classic design. While it isn’t available yet, pre-orders are set to open on August 8th, with the price being revealed at the same time. The statue itself measures 10 inches and is made of painted PVC.
If you’re in the market for Metroid collectibles, be sure to check back on August 8th to potentially pick up a pre-order. These figures do tend to run pretty expensive; the Varia Suit statue is listed at $149.99, so the final price will likely be in the same range. The quality far and away accounts for the potential price, so if you do end up picking one of these up you won’t regret it!
