Minecraft has been around for over a decade now, if you can believe it, and while the game has received a lot of spin-offs, merchandise, and cross-overs, it never received an official TV show. Thanks to Netflix, that’ll soon be changing.

As announced with a cute teaser, the new Minecraft show will be animated and looks to replicate the visuals of the game. Check it out:

Technically this won’t be the first Minecraft product on Netflix as the platform received a modified version of Telltale Games’ Minecraft Story Mode a few years ago, though that wasn’t designed first and foremost to be a TV show. This isn’t the only Minecraft adaptation in the works, either, as a movie will be released next April featuring Jack Black as Steve.

As for the Netflix show, all we know is that it’s “coming soon”.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
