As one might expect from the highest grossing media franchise of all time, the Pokémon brand is ubiquitous across the world. Despite how large the fanbase is however, many Pokémon fans don’t keep up with the various official competitive events that the company hosts. Whether you already follow the Video Game Championship scene or are just interested to learn, you’ll be glad to find out that more details for this year’s World Championships have just been announced!
When will the 2024 Pokémon World Championships take place?
The information comes from a video posted to The Official Pokémon YouTube channel and reveals the date of the event and what games will be present. The championships will take place in Honolulu at the Hawai’i Convention Center, and are scheduled to run from August 16th – 18th. The competition will feature VGC, TCG, Pokémon GO, and Pokémon Unite. If you happen to follow any of these formats or are just interested in watching, you might want to consider a trip this August.
Of course if you aren’t able to attend in-person, you can always watch the competition online. The Pokémon YouTube channel typically live streams the matches for those interested, and if you happen to be busy you can always watch the video version of said stream afterwards. Hopefully all those who want to make it are able to do so, and good luck to all of the competitors!
