Wildfires have ravaged the islands of Hawai’i over the past couple weeks, particularly on the island of Hawai’i and the island of Maui, where the devastation of Lahaina has made international headlines. After announcing that next year’s Pokémon World Championships will take place in Honolulu, The Pokémon Company International has announced that it would be donating $200,000 to Global Giving’s Hawai’i Wildfire Relief Fund.

“Our hearts go out to all those who have been impacted by the devastating wildfires in Hawai’i,” said Colin Palmer, TPCI’s Vice President of Premier Events. “Our priority is to aid children, families, and their affected communities.” With at least 98 dead and over 1000 missing, the Hawai’ian wildfires are the fifth deadliest in recorded US history. If you would like to donate to a mutual aid fund to assist Maui relief, check out the Hawai’i People’s Fund.
