The Street Fighter series is an absolute legend, both within its genre and games as a medium. Though the first game isn’t exactly a high point in that legacy, its release back in 1987 paved the way for some all-timers.

Now Capcom is paying tribute to that year and every once since by debuting a commemorative logo. Say hello to the Street Fighter 35th Anniversary:

The font and color on the 35 serve as a callback to Street Fighter II’s own title. And though the actual anniversary date isn’t until August 12th, there’s nothing wrong with committing to being down-right-fierce throughout 2022. With Street Fighter V having just wrapped its post-launch content, this could be the perfect year to introduce the world to the next chapter of the series.

Whether the Switch will be along for any potential celebrations remains to be seen, but Nintendo’s not been shy about supporting more classic SF titles. Here’s hoping that whatever comes next for Ryu, Ken, and all the other World Warriors out there can handle going handheld.
