The remakes of Pokémon Diamond & Pearl (aptly titled Brilliant Diamond & Shipning Pearl) are almost here! In anticipation of the games’ release, The Pokémon Company has a contest to get you ready for revisiting the Sinnoh region. How about a real-life Pokémon Super Contest? Get ready for Pokémon Presents Super Pet Contest!
From now until November 9th, 2021 at 12:01 a.m. PT, Pokémon fans in the US, UK, France, and Germany, can show off their pets as if they were participating in Super Contest Shows in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl. The Pokémon Company’s contest will feature three out of the five categories found in-game – Clever, Cool, and Cute. Sorry Beauty and Tough! Furry and non-furry friends and invited to take part in the contest.
Pokémon fans can vote for their favorite pet photos every day, with new photos added to the contest daily. Once the public voting is over, an expert judging panel will help select which pets will make it to the next stage. There, celebrity judge Michelle Visage (RuPaul’s Drag Race) will judge the finalists! Don’t worry, there’s no Lip Sync for Your Life segment featuring the original Pokémon anime theme song (though honestly, that sounds pretty fun). The winners will be announced on the official Pokémon YouTube channel on Tuesday, November 16th.
It’s not a contest without prizes, of course. Prizes will be awarded for the top four places in each category (Clever, Cool, and Cute). Prize packs include the following:
