Masahiro Sakurai said it himself: when it comes to Smash Bros. there hasn’t been a lot of amiibo news. The last releases of Banjo & Kazooie, Terry, and Byleth closed out Fighters Pass 1, leaving the future of the Smash Bros. amiibo line a bit up in the air. However, Nintendo’s at least coming through on one of these, courtesy of a new announcement out of Mr. Sakurai presents Kazuya.
Time to warm up, #ARMS fans! An #amiibo of Min Min will join the #SmashBros collection in 2022. pic.twitter.com/xv95a9Fcx8

Yes, a Min Min amiibo has been spotted! The prototype figure’s reveal marks the beginning of Fighters Pass 2 when it comes to amiibo. If this trend continues we should be seeing Steve, Sephiroth, Pyra, Mythra, and the just-showcased Kazuya sometime in the future. Sakurai made a note of how odd that would be for Kazuya in particular. This whole Pass is a bit of a logistical nightmare, what with Steve’s various alts and figuring out how to handle Pyra and Mythra. Still, if anyone can help make it happen, it’s Sakurai.
The Smash series Min Min amiibo will release in 2022, with no specific date given at this time.
