If you’re a Nintendo collector, you probably don’t need to be told that Japan is the place to be if you want to get your hands on the very best Mario merchandise — but it’s especially going to be the case from this Friday, following a collaboration campaign from PARCO.
The upcoming PARCO x Super Mario event kicks off with a “Grand Bazaar” sale across Japan with 30 to 50% off “all summer items such as fashion, shoes & bags, jewelry & accessories, interiors & miscellaneous goods.” This will run from June 25th to July 11th, and a list of participating PARCO stores can be found on the company’s website.
On July 1st, the Collaboration Item Fair begins, featuring over 300 Super Mario items from around 60 brands. Included in this lineup is a huge variety of (deep breaths) clothing, accessories, keychains, notebooks, bags, wallets, umbrellas, watches, folding fans, lamps, skateboards, and even musical instruments. Among the highlights are a guitar with a Coin pattern, a Mario-red electronic piano, a Princess Peach-style dress, a Super Star jelly ring, and some very classy kimonos. The sale will take place across all PARCO stores across Japan (physical and online) and you can view the majority of these items on PARCO’s website — just be prepared for a lot of scrolling and clicks on that “More” button!
The first 10,000 people to make a purchase consisting of over 3,000 yen’s worth of these Mario items will receive a free Super Mario hand towel, and the first 5,000 people will also receive an original, Mario-themed gift box.
Finally, Nintendo TOKYO will open a Pop-Up Store at five different PARCO stores, and on top of Mario goods, they will also stock limited-edition items based on The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, and Splatoon. What these products will be has yet to be revealed, but you can find dates and locations below.
