From Geoff Keighley, Summer Game Fest returns this year and its first 2021 event is less than a month away. Save the date for Thursday, June 10th, as that’s when Summer Game Fest’s Kick Off Live! showcases more than a dozen world premieres and announcements, a live performance by Weezer, and the Day of the Devs indie showcase.
First up, a look at which publishers and developers will be involved. According to an official press release, the following companies have partnered with Summer Game Fest:
Summer Game Fest will include updates for fans from the following partners, with more to be announced (in alphabetical order): 2K, Activision, Amazon Games, Annapurna Interactive, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Battlestate Games, Blizzard Entertainment, CAPCOM, Devolver Digital, Dotemu, Electronic Arts, Epic Games, Finji, Frontier, Gearbox Publishing, Hi-Rez Studios, Inner Sloth, Koch Media, Mediatonic, MiHoYo, PlayStation, Psyonix, Raw Fury, Riot Games, Saber Interactive, SEGA, Steam, SQUARE ENIX, Tribeca Festival, Tencent Games, Warner Bros. Games, Ubisoft, Wizards of the Coast, and Xbox.
Yes, Nintendo is not on the list, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be any Nintendo Switch news. After all, we did see Monster Hunter Stories 2 briefly in the event’s sizzle reel announcement video! Also, keep in mind that Kick Off Live! is taking place before E3 2021 (which begins Saturday, June 12th), so these dozen or so premieres will be a small taste of what’s in store for this summer.
Outside of announcements and worldwide premieres, Weezer will be performing live. Other than to promote The Hella Mega Tour, a 21-city US “outing” happening this summer alongside Green Day and Fall Out Boy, the band is debuting a brand new “stream safe game soundtrack song that can be freely streamed on Twitch, YouTube and anywhere else without being blocked or losing monetization, in an effort to help eliminate the challenges creators often encounter with popular music.”
As for the Day of the Devs segment, that will act as Kick Off Live!’s pre-show and start 30 minutes before the main event.
After being announced this morning, Geoff Keighley took to Twitter to answer questions about Summer Game Fest and Kick Off Live!
It will mostly be focused in June, and a big Kickoff event on June 10, followed by some great publisher events/streams

Probably around 2 hours? 12+ premieres I believe, prob more than that.

Good Q. Most, but not all the partners will have content in the Kickoff Show. Some will obviously save major news for their own events, which we will be supporting and streaming too! Picture will become more clear once partners announce events.
