Sonic the Hedgehog’s a merchandising machine, with everything from lunch boxes to face masks, and now you can add an official card game to that list. And no, it’s not based on Sonic Shuffle.

As discovered by SEGABits, board game company Steamforged is listing “Sonic the Card Game” via its official website. While no specifics besides a logo are shared, it’s promised to be a “competitive card racing game where you’ll collect power-ups and rings to win.”

Steamforged is no stranger to video game licenses, making board games based on Resident Evil 2, Ni no Kuni II, and Monster Hunter World. The company even released a Pac-Man card game, which might be a good base-line to look at to get an idea of how the Sonic game will look and play.

Sonic the Card Game is expected to launch in 2021.
