While there’ve been some great strides for Puyo Puyo’s recognition in the west over the last few years, it can’t hold a candle to its popularity in Japan. Mobile games, arcade games, televised tournaments and more speak volumes of the puzzle icons but there’s always room for a little more love. Sega must think so too, as it’s been announced a “Puyo Day” livestream will be held on February 4th promising 24 pieces of new information.

Why 24? Well, in Japanese you can read that that as “pu-yo”. Mixed with the date (2-4) you’ve got Puyo Puyo! While there’s no way to know if the information could be of any international significance, such as a new Puyo game, if you’re a fan of the series it could be worth the watch.
