Earlier this evening, Nintendo confirmed that its latest mobile game, Dr. Mario World, will be releasing on Android and iOS on July 10th. The game will be a free download — but, like other mobile puzzle games, will include microtransactions.
According to the official Dr. Mario World App Store page, the premium currency included are diamonds. These diamond packs range from $1.99 all the way up to $69.99 for a bundle. Diamonds can be used to continue a stage, get new items, or restore stamina. At the moment, I haven’t seen enough information on how these transactions will play out in the final game, but if other puzzlers are anything to go by, there may be reason for concern.
If you want to pre-order Dr. Mario World, you can do so on the Apple App Store or Google Play right now.
